We are seeking a highly accomplished and motivated Technical Tunnel Lead to join our growing Toronto-based tunnelling team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of one of the most established and respected underground infrastructure practices in North America.

For decades, our tunnelling professionals have delivered some of the industry's most complex and transformative underground projects, supporting major transit, water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure programs across Canada, the United States, and internationally. Our long-standing reputation has been built on technical excellence, innovation, and successful project delivery, making us a trusted partner on landmark infrastructure investments throughout North America.

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking a recognized tunnelling expert who can provide technical leadership on major pursuits and projects, mentor the next generation of engineers, strengthen client relationships, and help define the future direction of our tunnelling practice. This role offers the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on both our organization and the critical infrastructure that supports communities for generations to come.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development of innovative design solutions and technical deliverables for tunnels, shafts, support of excavation systems, and underground structures.

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction on major underground infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on transit and water/wastewater markets.

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, project teams, and senior stakeholders.

  • Conduct constructability, risk, and biddability reviews to support successful project delivery.

  • Lead the preparation of design reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documentation.

  • Champion excellence in underground engineering practice, codes, standards, quality assurance, and design governance.

  • Establish and improve engineering processes, systems, and best practices to support efficient and high-quality project execution.

  • Manage multidisciplinary design packages and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders throughout project delivery.

  • Build and strengthen client relationships through regular engagement, progress reporting, and strategic project support.

  • Advance the team's capabilities through innovation, digital engineering, and the implementation of emerging technologies.

  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical growth and leadership capabilities across the team.

  • Support business development activities, major pursuits, and proposal submissions that continue to expand our tunnelling portfolio across North America.

What we're looking for:

The ideal candidate is a respected engineering professional with a passion for delivering technically excellent underground infrastructure projects.
