As good quality fresh water resources are becoming increasingly scarce, they need to be managed carefully and in an integrated way. Many countries have a history of managing water as a commodity rather than as a resource. Integrated water resource management is necessary to safeguard the sustainable use of water resources.
The development of appropriate water resources strategies and comprehensive river basin management plans has been an area of particular strength for Mott MacDonald. We consider all relevant issues when developing master plans. This involves increasingly wide discussion and consultation with both specialists and stakeholders in order to identify sustainable and optimal development plans.
