Mott MacDonald appoints two non-executive directors to its board

Mott MacDonald has appointed Erin Flaherty and Andrew McNaughton as non-executive directors, effective 1 September 2026.

The addition of non-executive directors to Mott MacDonald’s board evolves the business’ governance arrangements to support its long-term success and further enhance the stewardship of its employee ownership.

Erin Flaherty, who has served as an independent committee member and chair of Mott MacDonald’s shareholders' committee and Andrew McNaughton, a former CEO of Balfour Beatty Plc, will provide independent challenge, external perspective and robust oversight to the board as non-executive directors.

With leadership and board level experience in both the public and private sectors, Erin has played a significant role in some of Australia's most important transport projects. She currently serves as chair of the Australian government's National Intermodal Corporation and is a non-executive director of Inland Rail Pty Ltd.

Prior to this she was executive director at Infrastructure NSW, a member of the advisory board for Sydney Metro and deputy CEO and commercial manager at Reliance Rail.

Andrew McNaughton has a track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally, including High Speed One, London 2012 Olympics and Heathrow Terminal 5.

Andrew is a non-executive director for Thames Water, British Steel, Speedy Hire and Sheffield Forgemasters, and was previously an executive board director of AWE Plc. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and is the Vice President of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

The appointments of Erin and Andrew follow the expansion of the company’s board earlier in the year with the addition of three directors: Paul Bentley, director in Mott MacDonald’s contracting business, JN Bentley, Dean Radeloff, president and CEO for North America and Aimee Barwick, client director.
