We are looking for a talented, motivated, and Tunnel/Geostructural EIT to join our Vancouver tunnels team. In this position you will work alongside our tunnel engineers on local, national and global projects.

 

As a Tunnel/Geostructural Engineer-In-Training, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in performing geotechnical and geostructural analysis and design for tunnels, shafts, excavations, retaining structures, and other underground or ground interaction systems.
  • Support site oversight, field reviews, site investigation activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support interpretation of geotechnical data, develop ground models, and establish engineering parameters to support design and risk evaluations.
  • Complete engineering calculations, design reports, drawings, and technical specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Build numerical models (e.g., finite element or finite difference) to assess ground behavior, soil–structure interaction, deformation, and stability.
  • Collaborate on design inputs with other disciplines such as civil, structural, environmental, and construction teams.
  • Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and quality assurance activities to ensure effective and timely delivery of design packages.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, scope definition, and the development of engineering cost estimates when required.

 

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering; a master’s degree is an asset.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in British Columbia.
  • Ability to obtain professional registration in upcoming years.
  • 3-5 years of relevant project experience in Structural/Geotechnical engineering design for tunnels, shafts and other underground structures.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical and structural analysis software (e.g. Plaxis, RocScience, SAP2000) or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, structural behavior, and ground–structure interaction.
  • Good written   and verbal communication, with excellent problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working on complex infrastructure projects and learning from industry leaders.

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.

 

 

The expected salary range for this position is from $84,000 - $103,000.
