Mott MacDonald has appointed Scott Morath as its water, environment and society market leader for Australia. In this role, Scott will lead the national strategy for Mott MacDonald’s water, environment and society team, driving growth, strengthening client relationships and supporting the delivery of major programmes focused on water security, climate resilience, sustainability and positive community outcomes.
Scott brings more than 25 years’ experience across water, environment, transport and buildings for government and private sector clients. Most recently, Scott held senior executive roles at Jacobs, with accountability for portfolios of up to AU$100M in revenue and leadership of workforces exceeding 400 people across multiple jurisdictions. His experience includes executive oversight of nationally significant water and environmental programmes, as well as major transport and integrated infrastructure projects delivered through collaborative and joint‑venture models.
Frances Badelow, managing director for Mott MacDonald in Australia, said: “Scott brings a rare combination of market leadership, technical depth and hands‑on experience leading some of Australia’s largest and most complex water and environmental programmes. His appointment reflects our continued investment in senior leadership to support clients tackling critical challenges around water security, climate resilience and sustainable development. Scott’s values and leadership style align strongly with Mott MacDonald’s purpose and our commitment to shaping better outcomes for communities.”
Commenting on his appointment, Scott said: “Australia is facing increasing pressure on its water, environmental and social systems, driven by climate change, population growth and the need for long‑term resilience.
